    Unhappy Morex Car PSU Blew up!!

    check out the pics my pc is fried and psu was only 1 months old.

    Looks like something happened to the 12v regulator to send the huge amount of amps back down to the board.

    Sorry to hear that I have a morex 80w psu and it runs fine altho i have a burning smell in the pc case all the time for no reason....

    Sorry to hear bud... I put a 3 year warronty on my carpc -- I know it will be obsolete by then, but still, I don't want to have any bad surprises ...

    Afraid so but i don't think they will replace my motherboard which is over a year old and i did not buy from them.

    Can you prove it was the PS and not the install? If you hooked it up poorly it is not a warrenty deal....

    well everything was working fine installed for nearly a month all i did was switch it on today and bang smoke.

    One thing is for sure, you had way more current on those wires and that connector than either could handle. It's fairly clear you probably didn't have the correct fuse protecting those wires. Now what caused the system to fail like that in the first place? That's anyone's guess.

    Fortunately your car didn't catch on fire.
