High power on the 5V line is 'trivial' and I am sure tons of people would be happy with just the supply and not all the shutdown features and extras the opus provides.
It was a matter of time before the data was going to get out. I was under NDA from the vendor.

I am working on a 220 watt ATX psu.

How do i power an atx motherboard with this? I dont see anything i can connect to a atx power socket on my mainboard.

    Im prepared to be flamed

    Thanks!

Most any casetronic case, or morex case will have a DC-DC converter that has an ATX connector on it. It will take in 12 volts. It will say the tollerance on this 12 volts is 10% that is a lot less headroom than you'll find in a car (8-16). You use the DSX12V to give you clean 12 for other applications.

You don't what Zoot has is a clean 12 regulated supply from a fluxuating power supply (the car) this is then used to feed the 12v-to atx psu that is found in many small pc cases mainly built to hold Epia motherboards that have a small form factor. Be aware that some full size motherboards are not compatable with this 12v-to atx style supply. I tried a Serentini case with a Mercury motherboard and found that the 12v-200w to atx was not compatable and the board would only work with the small genuine mains atx supply provided with the case so I then purchased an Epia 1000 board which did work.

How can one use it for boosting the opus capacity?

Should I override the opus' 12v by hacking the atx cable? or can I put the 12v output in parallel? I guess I just need to find what cables in the atx connector (and molex conns) are 12v and override them with the DSX, or put them in parallel? How big is it? It wont fit inside the opus case, will it? (for those with an opus)

When can I order 2 units?

PS: how does that mobo power pefierals? does it do 5v conversion on board? or is it just the board that is 12v only? Thanks!
