I've installed the system in the car:
Positive direct to the battery
Negative to ground on the radio harness
Ign On to the Radio Harness Ign On
The Carnetix is connected directly to the motherboard using the power cable supplied and the carnetix is connected to the Power Button on the motherboard.
Wierd things are happening, if I start the car with the ACPI connected to the power buttons jumpers on the motherboard the system powers up for about 4 seconds then switches off. If I power on by shorting the pins on the motherboard it powers up and stays powered.
Any ideas?? Battery seems fine so can't see it being a power issue.
That's a good question, It might have to do with the way you have the P1260 grounded. I had issue with my Xenarc PC and I had to install a small relay to get the P1260 to work because there was no ACPI header and I could just connect the P1260 dierctly to the switch to get it to work.
If that doesn't work you might want to post on the Carnetix Forum. Mike is really good about answering questions in a timely fasion.

UK_MP3Car,
Sounds like you may have your ACPI jumper reversed. It is polarized. The Green wire must go to the +side of the power switch. Try reversing it.
Here's what the M10000 mobo header looks like.

Hmmm, already checked that, was the first thing I checked, could it be a grounding issue??
Hard to tell at this point. Let me make sure I understand you connections:could it be a grounding issue??
Just to verify:Positive direct to the battery
Negative to ground on the radio harness
Ign On to the Radio Harness Ign On
So, you have the "Positive" RED battery P1260 input wire on J1 connected directly to your battery...(you need to put a fuse on this line).
And you have the Black GND wire on J1 connected to the Ground wire in your radio harness? If so, this is not a good idea. You should run this black wire either directly to your chassis or back to the negative terminal on your battery. Use a wire size equivalent to whatever you have run for your Positive inut wire.
And, the YELLOW P1260 Ignition input is connected to the Ignition line in your Radio harness. This should be OK, unless it's doing something funny.
This confuses me. If you are using an EPIA 800 mobo (per your sig) you need a DC-DC ATX PSU between the P1260 and your mobo. Do you have something like a Morex 60W PSU connected between the P1260 and your mobo? What case do you have?
Do you mean the system abruptly shuts down with no shutdown delay from the P1260? Or does the system go into the normal shutdown delay sequence and gracefully shut down after 30 seconds?system powers up for about 4 seconds then switches off
Are you sure you have the RED wire connected to your battery and the YELLOW wire connected to the Ignition? Could they be reversed?

Hi Mike,
The Carnetix goes to a Morex Dc-Dc power supply, I have one of the early Mini-ITX cases, but can't for the life of me remember it make/model.
I'll reroute the ground direct to the battery to see if this helps.
The system shuts down abruptly after approx 4 seconds, even with ignition on.
The Red cable goes to Positive 12V and the Yellow goes to the ignition sense cable - I ahev double checked these.
I'll take out later and refit all the cables, will also check the jumper settings.
Let me know how it goes.

Just wondering what ever happened with this situation?
