Wiring Xenarc to wiring harness?

I have a ground and 12v accessory wire in my car's wiring harness which are going unused and I was wondering if I could hack the end off my Xenarc's AC adaptor and wire them up to those wires on the wiring harness. Would this work and not kill my Xenarc? Thanks a lot.

EDIT: And if so, can I wire multiple things to the ground and 12v accessory wire?

I.E. -

Red = 12 v

Black = Ground

the 12v accessory line is yellow.
(not that it matters, right?)

I've got my Xenarc plugged directly into the cigarette lighter with no ill effects after several months. I presume they supply you with this connection because it shouldn't be a problem.

So, yes, I'd expect you can do the same by cutting the end off of it and hooking it up directly.

I would put a relay in there to connect to the remote +12v and the +12v constant so that the screen would turn off with the car as well.

Relay isn't a bad idea. Don't want the battery to be drained by the screen in standby. OTOH I don't have one on mine and the screen must not draw that much juice in standby but if I'm not going to use the car for a week or so, I unplug it. But perhaps I've just been lucky. I'll be switching the screen to the accessory power soon.

I thought Xenarc had auto-off?

EDIT: This would explain you having no battery problems.

You can add up till the power being drawn is too much for the fuse. Also, if this is the accessory wire that powers the radio, then its should turn off with the car.
