If you look beside the CPU and just above the SIS 650GX chipset there is a 4 pin power connector that I spoke about in other threads. This means that your CPU gets most of its power from your 12 volt rail. On the opus there is a max of 5 amps. 12x5 = 60 watts max. The 2.4 gig celeron alone pulls close to 50 - 60watts at peak. So no I don't think its gonna work with that mobo and cpu.
ok I have been looking around and some people have 2.4 celeron systems that are running off the OPUS 150W but from what I have been reading the 2.4 celeron sucks 59.8W which fills up the 12V rail. I have a DVD drive and a hard drive that come off the 5V rail but I think im gonna be screwed to find the rest of my parts that dont pull from the 12V rail. Does anyone have a suggestion on a PSU setup?
your hard drive and dvd rom pull from the 12 volt rail as well.
that system will pull 8 amps or more on the 12 volt rail easy.
you could try a less powerful cpu. if not, run a power inverter.
I thought Opus came in 80watt, 120watt, and 150watt configurations?
