    hi,

is it possible to bypass the regulator on the itps, and then use my 250w powersupply on the itps?

    yup..

search google for "itps pdf" .. and you should get a pdf of the manual for it..

there are 2 pads under the regulator that you short out.. (the part with the heat sink)

well.. you can use a relay..

have the ITPS turn on a relay and have your 250W psu connected to your battery via your relay ..

the ITPS may work.. as it won't be regulated.. but I'm not sure because it does turn it on and off.. so the relay may work best

I think what you're asking is whether you can simply use the ITPS as a startup/shutdown controller and bypass that with your 250watt inverter.

I certainly wouldn't run the 250 watts "through" your ITPS. It would probably overheat it if your system drew more than 60 watts, even if the regulator is bypassed as the board and tracings are sized for 60 watts.

It would be much better to go with a relay, as suggested. The ITPS would energize the relay and the power would pass through the relay, not the ITPS. I believe you could also use that same signal to the motherboard to tell it to start as well.

Search on terms "ITPS startup controller" or some variation of that to find posts about people who have done this.
