If you're using XP, you can just set it up in the power options to hibernate x minutes after standby, works wether the standby was auto or forced.
Is there any way to make a computer hibernate after its been on standby for x amount of time?
i know this can be done if the computer goes into standby due to inactivity with power settings but i dont know how to make it if ive forced standby

It works on mine(desktop not carputer). I have it set up to standby after 1 hour inactivity & hibernate after 2. Sometimes I put it into standby myself & a couple of hours later it hibernates.
