Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm getting a mac mini and a P1900 power supply and already have my xenarc 700tsv. I am also getting a usb hub. Well, I have the choice, as you know, of having either a 12v or 5v accessory output. Well, what are the advantages of plugging in the screen to the 12v output as opposed to just plugging it in direct to the electrical system? Thanks.
Advantage is the P1900 will give your screen clean, regulated power and prevent those nasty spikes in voltage.
Having said that, I plug my Xenarc directly into my lighter socket because it came with a lighter plug and I presume they wouldn't do that if the product couldn't take it. I'm probably wrong, but so far, so good.
In reality, I'm also getting a mini and will probably change this when I install the P1900. It seems a small price to pay for some insurance for my $$$ screen.

Ah....i see.......the spikes in voltages could damage the monitor. So how do I get the power for the mini, the screen, AND the usb hub? MikeH.....care to chime in?
Coming soon to a P1900 near you....a third output so you don't have to choose.
