Thumbs up p1900 used w/ZPC is perfect -except for one quirk:

P1900is a great unit. Just an FYI I found interesting.

One characteristic is that if you use the acpi feature to turn
on/off the computer this can happen:

If start the car, the p1900 sends the signal to turn on the pc. If you shutdown the pc while your car is running, the p1900 does not know this so if
you shut down the car the p1900 sends the signal again and starts the computer only to abruptly shut windows down without warning!

BTW, this is with an IWILL ZPCgx barebones. I soldered the acpi wire to power switch solder pad (via a jumper wire) and it works beautifully, highly
recomended vs other "solutions" I have seen. I do love the p1900, and just gotta figure out how to hook it up to my car's security system so that the unlock will turn on the pc that way widows is up and running once I start the car. This will be cool.
Iwill ZPCgx 2.4ghz cel, 256mb pc2700, external combo drive, 80gb 2.5 laptop drive, xp pro, usb gps, 7 in Lilliput TS , carnetix CNX1900. All mounted ghetto- still experimenting and tweaking.

Glad to hear this is working out for you! Did you use the special power connector?

This is true. The P1900 does not know that you manually turned off you PC. Why are you manually turning it off anyway? If you want manual control over the PC you should add a "valet switch" on the ingition line. This way the P1900 remains in control of the ACPI signal but you can still have non-ignition-switch control over the startup/shutdown.
just gotta figure out how to hook it up to my car's security system so that the unlock will turn on the pc that way widows is up and running once I start the car.
You'll need to find something in your security system that produces a "pulse" per the Pulse Start definition in the manual. Hopefully there's an extra output in your security system somewhere.
    This will be cool.
    ....this WILL be cool

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Mike,

The power connector was ordered as free sample from the manufacturer. I soldered a wire from the p1900 to the connector. One thing I did for the
12v-in was soldered a cig lighter plug so that I could move the unit easily.

Thanks for the suggestion for the valet switch- once I get in I flip the switch and then the p1900 shuts everything down- cool.

You can add the ZPCgx to your compatible list for sure!

Now get cracking on that 5v piggy back!

We have designed one specifically for this application.
http://www.mp3car.com/store/product_...roducts_id=109 It says Simicom, but will work for IWill also. Keep an eye on the heat generated in your supply wires. Our cable has 2x16GA wires for power intense systems.
