come on. simple question. i dont have the opus till tomarrow, but i want to get wire today.

i'll probly to 2 X 8awg to the trunk one for an amp, one for opus. i think its easier to hide 8g then 4g. is 8 awg overkill for an opus?cause id rather run 10g or smaller.

    1) Did you ever think to contact the manufacturer?
    2) Did you bother to search the Power Supplies forum? I used the keywords OPUS and AWG and have an assload of results.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

In the opus manual, for the 150W version 12AWG wire is stated to run directly from the battery. Remember the inline fuse too. You could go for a 10AWG wire, a little thicker won't hurt. You could even go for 8AWG too, but you'll run into a little problem though...it's too thick for the original Opus connector.

I'm not even ready to order my Opus yet, and I knkow the manual dictates 12AWG, yet most peoiple suggest 8AWG or thicker.

    Why?
    I actually READ the forums!!!

    Amazing but true....
