    Not enough power?

My system will not start in the car, the pc won't post(fans start though). I tried everything in a test approach which worked.

If I hook it up to a regular PSU everythings fine. If I hook it up with the M1-ATX it only posts. Could it be that I don't have enough power or could some rails of the M1-ATX be defect?
The system I tried to connect:
    - MII10000
    - regular 512mb
    - regular hdd 80gb
    - regular CD-DVD combo.

I thought I shuold be able to run this. What do you guys think??

Further testing: without hdd, without cd-DVD combo ==> still no post.

Anyone? The rest of the install is complete, just need to get the power sorted, so you can understand I'm a little anxious.

The M1-ATX should power that system. Try starting the car and then booting the system. If it starts, then the M1-ATX is dropping the battery power too low to start the PC. Also, test the voltage of the battery both off and with the car running. It could be weak.

    Thanks for the answers.

@Jaz: yes the fan spins ok.

@ Bugbyte: The M& must have been defect, I tried powering the M1 from the 12V line of another PSU and it didn't start either.

So I turned it in for a replacement. I would still like to know wether or not the M1 will be enough for my system.
If not, should I add a P200 or something similar or should I just get rid of it and go for the Opus?

aren't you powering yout LCD too? I think the 2A @12v limit is the problem, my DVD takes up to 1.5A under spinning, I think it could be related to this

the LCD is at least 1A, motorized maybe more
    add 1A for the DVD
add 0.5 for the HDD and you are out of 2A@12v specs for M1

OK, then what should I add. Preferably something with a relatively high 12V line. I was looking at the PW200M. Would it be easy to combine that with the M1-ATX.

e.g. do I then power the mobo with the M1 and all the rest with PW200M? but then what happens when I turn the mobo on, will the rest follow? Are the drives then constantly on(draining power)? Has anybody combined these PSU's yet, or something else with the M1-ATX?

I have the same problem. I switched from Morex 60W PSU to M1-ATX and this problem started. Have not been able to fix mine but I just read something in another thread. A guy with a Opus 120W and a Via mobo has the same problem. Opus support people told him 1/100 Via boards require power to be up in 2ms when Opus power gets up in 5ms........

I am now wondering if it is a timing issue with M1-ATX and Via board combinations as well?
