    Wiring from battery using relay to turn on/off inverter

    The cable i'm running from the battery is huge(diameter ca 0,7cm) and the relay connectors are VERY TINY.

    I cannot solder the huge cable to these small connectors!
    Q: Can i put a thin cable in between? Will this result in a power-bottleneck?

    I really wouldn't recommend that (I'm not an expert though...), but I think those thiny cables are gonna act as a fuse !

    The cable diameter has to match with the Amps and the cable length.

    I used to have a setup like this, here is what I did...

    Connect the positive cable to the battery then directly to the inverter, ground the inverter to the car. Now your inverter will turn on with its switch (yay).

    (Usually you do this before connecting power to the inverter since I was just testing mine before opening it I connected to test)

    Open the inverter and find the wires that connect to the switch on the side of the inverter. Cut the wire in the middle and connect one to the relay pole and the other side of that wire to the other relay pole. I think they are poles 85 and 86?

    Now run a lead wire (from the wiper fuse in my case) to the pole on the relay that will turn it on.

    Just fyi so no one kills themself, but thin cables do not act as a fuse.. rather fuses protect in case you get too much current on cables not meant to support it. Thin cables that aren't fused, and get too much current, make a car catch on fire.

    you should consider a fused distrobution block if you're poweringmore than the inverter, 0 gauge for an inverter seems way overkill, but you probably have other thingsyou want to hook up to it rigt?

    Yeah that's what I meant.. the thin cable in a fuse actually "burns" but it's protected in a fuse case so I won't start any fire lol !

    I have a fuse for this cable by the battery. I know that the cable is a little overkill, but i'm planning to install a amp and sub later. Anyway, its better to have too big diameter than small, or...

    BTW, when(if) i install the amp and stuff:
    Do i need a fused distro block or may i just use a distro block?

    just use a high current relay to switch it on and off. stinger makes some good ones (80 or 100 amp)
