Have you tried this inside with a normal PSU? Is there a fan on your CPU, and if so is that coming on? What are your system specs?
i just hooked my car PC up for the 1st time ever.
i think i hear my HD spin up and the opus green light is on constant, even with the ignition off, which is not supposed to happen correct? i am positive the yellow acc wire is hooked up to my cars acc wire. i tested it all.
the one page manual that came with the opus says constant green mean the pc should be on and running, but niether the opus fan or cpu fan come on, but like i said i hear my HD spin up.
i have 4awg to the back, distributed into 8awg, 8awg to opus, + and -, 12awg to ignition harness. fused on the 4awg with a 30A car audio style fuse holder, 15A blade fuse on the 8awg + . as soon as i pop the 15A in i hear the HD spin and the opus green light is constant. but i dont think my pc is on... wtf

ya, i just got done trying it in my house with a normal PSU, it came on fine, there is a fan on my cpu and it came on like normal - did not come on hooked up to opus
my system -
epox EP-8KMM3I mATX
athlon XP-M 1300
samsung 2.5" HD
opus 150
no optical drive at the moment
the power on wires are on the right header too... and my board is still set to power on after power loss so it should come on regardless of that so i think it not that.
i extended my atx board wires that came with the opus, but it soldered and heat shrink tubed all F'in 20 wires, so i just checked them for continuity and resistance. there all fine. so it cant be that. i did em one at a time too so theres no criss-crossin, took me 1 and a half times watching oceans 12 to do it.
all the car connections are tight and insulated well.
do i have to mess with the jumpers that are inside the opus maybe?
when i hook the opus up with my ignition off, the light inside the opus should just blink every few seconds right? not constant?
help me. i'm dont see any problems...
Did you put replace the start button wire with the green/white wire that came with the Opsu? Does it have the correct polarity?
ya i connected the "turn on" wires to the header on my board, just like it was in my case, i did'nt think polarity matters as its just a switch.. am i wrong?
The polarity matters. I've had the same problem and when I twisted the connector it all run fine.

dude, you can short the power button header on your board with a screwdriver and it will turn your PC on.. its not that.
but,
i disconnected everything from the opus, with ignition off:
1st the on off header - green light solid
then the power out do the drives - green light solid
then, only when i disconnected the 20 wire atx board harness the light then blinked every few seconds as if normal. the problem seems to be when the opus is connected to the motherboard. i connected a regualar ac-dc antec power supply and the board posts normally.
