Best place for Installing a PSU

I have a bmw coupe and in my country the temperature in the summer reaches 50oC (in the shade) 122F. What's the best location for installing a power supply? The boot? or in the cockpit under the seats? I am to scared to put it under the seat since it can heat up and maybe burn the carpet.

It also depends on the PSU you are using. For example the Opsu doesn't get as hot as I would've expected... I'd say a boot install would be nicer.

    That's far...

The best place for a PSU is definatly in a computer case. I can only tell you about mine, and I have it in the trunk in a Travla C137 case, and no problems what so ever, and I too expereinced 50drgC outside.

My PC is Sumicom SP625, which is so small that there is no way to fit a power supply in there. I spoke to my friend who's helping me with the audio installation and he suggested that we have in the boot as well.

Best place is close to the computer with short leads from the output to the MB.
Most professional supplies have a sense line that helps the PSU regulate the output voltage. ATX supplies do not have this feature and sense the voltage right at the output. A long supply wire acts as a series resistor and will drop the voltage a bit.
My MK4.5 is with in the Shuttle FX41G case with lines no longer than 5".
