how do you lot keep the power requirements of your PCs below the 140/150w limit of the opus et al
the system i'm looking to build has a higher requirement than this. but the ease of use of these power supplies/regulators seems good.
what other way could i supply +150W and have the delayed shutdown and work off ignition, etc...

What exactly is your planned setup? Most of the guys with DC-DC psus here run low performance setups, but you just might be surprised at how little power your setup may draw. I'm running a 2500 barton on an nf2 board and I rarely see a draw of more than 10 amps at 13.5 volts. That's only 135 watts peak. Normal draw is closer to 7 amps. (95 watts)
