    Lilliput powered from Cig. Lighter?

I had planned on powering my Lilliput via the power wires from the lighter in my car by splicing the supllied Cig. Lighter adapter. After reading a few posts, there seems to be problems with this, correct? The suggested way is to use an Opus PS. Im not going to do that because I have a laptop and Im not going to buy one since im not going to use it w/ said laptop. So what would be the best way to power the screen if I cant directly wire it to the lighter through the adapter.

search!!!......the egg is notorious for failure....and giving your lilliput an unregulated power feed will try it (not designed for that)....power it with another regulated power supply
    PC Components:
    Lilliput; XPC/FLEX mobo; 1.7 ghz P4 Mobile;512 DDR; 160 gb HDD; opus 150; slot usb dvd-rw

I did search, most post refer to the opus or schematics on building a regulator. Since I dont want to do either what is a regulator suitable for the application.

Ive read that... In it is suggestions for running it off of OPUS, off of the computer, and schematics for building regulators. Since I said Im not doing any of those, once again what is a regulator I can buy....

Read my post - #4 - and the last 2 paragraphs talk about using an alternative DC-DC regulator!

I did read it and I dont think that a portable dvd regulator or the like is any better suited than the adapter than came with my lilliput.

    Read People's reply above
the egg is notorious for failure.
and then what i wrote. Try the egg - if you notice any problems get rid of it. the newer eggs might be better but the old ones were crap.

WTF, I did read it. Youre the one that needs to learn how to read. I asked how to do this since its suggested not to use the egg. Why would I want to use something that is notorious for failure.
