    usb hub power

    hey quick question i want to add a powered usb hub to my system my question is would it be ok to you a regular power adapter like you plug into a cig lighter socket set at 5v most of the stuff i will be running won't be more than card readers and my remote reciver but i would like the option if i need it for something so do you think this would work ok?

    1) Capitalization and punctuation are GOOD things. Use them, and you're likely to get more responses to your query.

    2) You can get 5v off your power supply. Tap into a molex connector for it.
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

    Yes I am aware of pulling it from the PSU but i would rather not run more wires from the trunk back to the front

    There is a thread about this on the the forums. Look around. Some keywords would be "lm338" and "7805"

    Yes, you could find the thread with other keywords, but those will get you there quicker, and I am all about helping teh noobs out.

    ok i was unable to find the parts localy and if i am going to have to order offline i would just assume order one already made is there anyone here that would bewilling to put one together to sell?

    I believe carnetix just came out with something. Look in the MP3car store. However, it is gonna be a grip more then building it.
