    Battery draining while car sits

Something is draining my battery. The problem is that I dont know exactly when this started happening. I dont think it can be my inverter because it sits behind a relay and only receives power when the ignition is on. What is the best way to hunt something like this down?

Your mechanic has a device that can check to see if there is a draw on the battery that is more then it should be.

Once you know if there is a draw, you should disconnect the stuff you have added from the battery. If you do it all at once, and then the draw is reduced to an acceptable level (There is always some sort of draw ont he battery, no matter what) then you know it is something you have added. Then go through the items one by one, removing the battery cable, and checking from a drop in the current drawn from the battery, until you locate the right item.

Once you have done that, correct it.

That, or add a relay to all the additional power wires you added that come offyour battery. That way, whent he car is off, nothing will be drawn from the battery.

The only wire I have added is for the inverter. That inverter is behind a relay so I'm not sure what the deal is. I know you can check for draw with a multimeter but I'm unsure how to do that.

Only if the multimeter has an ammeter built in. Some do not.

Disconnect your inverter for a day or two, and see if the drain still occurs. If it does, then it is not the inverter, and it is some other problem

Have you added any other wires, so to the cigarette lighter, or to the fuse box. They can draw power also, not just directly fromt he battery. DId you add any wires besides the inverter to your cars electrical system.

The only wire that I added was to the radio ACC line to trip the inverter relay. But this was happening before I did that. I checked the draw on the battery and found less that a milliamp being used.

I tried another test on the battery. I checked the voltage while sitting (12.15v) and then with the high beams on (9.74v). Looks like my battery crapped on me. I'll have to hit Honda up tomorrow for warranty replacement.
