About to install..got a quick question

Alright so this is what im doing..i got a 200watt ps carputer. I bought a vector 400 watt power invertor. I bought the $40 shutdown controllor from mp3car store (Micro Shutdown Controller[uSDC20D]). I also have a 1 farad capacitor that isnt hooked up. Does this sound correct......Install my shutdown controller into my computer. Plug the computer into the power invertor. Then run wires directly to my battery. Then i can run wires to my capacitor. When i turn on and off my car..the computer should start up and shutdown right?..i dont have to worry about hitting the switch on the invertor everytime i leave my car right? And is my capacitor even neccassary?..i figured it would just be a back up to give a consitant 12 volts?..please let me know if this is correct

NOt clear where you are connecting the shutdown controller; make sure you follow the instructions

THe main voltage connection should be
Battery -> Shutdown controller -> Inverter -> Regular computer PSU

do not put the inverter before the shutdown controller!

no need for a cap, you're not driving a Subwoofer (somebody back me up on this, the only reason for a cap might be to survive cranking, but I don't think that the cap would hold enough charge for this)

alright sounds good..if the shutdown controllor is inbetween the battery and power invertor...dont i need some kind of casing for it...also if im using 8 gauge cords..how would htat fit in the shutdown controllor. im buying this from mp3car store..they should have instructions right?

they do have instructions (including wiring diagrams)

look at the mp3car store website for your particular controller and they have a "Quick start guide" and a "Manual/Spec sheet" (under the "Recommended REading" heading at the bottom of the page)
