    grrr making my head hert

    Hi all

    right i have a couple of questions there not all for this part of the forum but the main one is and so so so sorry if these have been asked before trust me i have been searching for along time and must have read lots of threads even the FAQ but still stugling sorry

    right

    1= i have a Intel Pentium 4 and a Celeron CPU i dont no what would work pest grr i think the pentium 4 would be best but any how im getting the p4 motherboard this works with any of the CPU's ive got 512mb RAM and slim 40gb hard drive also i have a slim dvd ROM and cd/dvd writer this is a all in one slim drive

    but im strugling like mad trying to figer out what would be the best way to power it

    i know i need

    Battery --> Regulator --> startup/shutdown controller --> Power supply --> Computer

    ive read the FAQ thread ive looked all over the place but this in car is new to me

    the other question is a quick one i think

    2= the mother board im getting is the p4 it has one pci slot on it now i want my carputer hooked up to my sound system i have a 4 chanal amp and i was going to get the Y adapters for the sound plug so i can hook it up to the amp

    please could some one tell me am i right in saying that i dont need a sound card but i do need the Y adapters so that i can plug into the plugs on the onboard sound system

    and 3= like i said the motherboard p4 only has one pci slot i have seen that you can get a riser are these ok and trusding i dont like the look of them
    you see i want a tv + fm card on my system as its getting hooked to my music system and im getting red of the head unit but if i need space for another card would you trust these risers and do they work on all motherboards

    hope some one can help me and sorry for any spelling mistakes im realy bad at spelling

    thank you

    1) Search "Opus" and "M1-ATX". They are the all-in-one reg/startup/shutdown/psus for most projects here.

    2) You dont *need* a soundcard, but be warned that most onboard audio sounds like crap. A lot of people, especially those with good speakers, tend to end up with a real soundcard in the end. Search "Audigy"

    3) I have no experience with dual-pci risers. However, there are USB modules available for both sound and tv/fm. If you dont trust the risers, just get a USB version of each.
