    Problem powering the following

Well after taking a good 2-3 days in customizing my setup in my GP for my new PC I run into an issue where after maybe 5-6mins the HDD reboots on it's own.

    Here's what I have setup:

    EPIA M10000
    512MB RAM
    40GB 2.5 HDD
Liliput 8" TS screen (so one VGA port and USB touch)
    Microsoft 54MBps router - MIN-710 - USB
    Bluetooth Dongle (USB)

    Running on:
    PW-200
    Carnetix 1290.
    Optima Yellow top Battery.
I have the LCD tapped into a the same 12 volt line PC but that shouldn't be a problem right?

    Anything anybody see?

The PSU calculator says I'm ok with my setup with DVD playback being a top out at 72.9W.

Should I give the HDD it's own 5V line from the 1290 or just keep it on the PC ?

Sorry if i misunderstood, but how is the laptop hd recieving its power now ? If there is other devices on the same power cable as it, that really shouldnt matter. but you could check for a voltage drop i suppose.

Also keep in mind that when you first turn on most devices they use more power.

and keep in mind the power calc is just a rough estimate.

If you have a regular high watt ac-dc psu, i'd try that and make sure everything runs fine for more than 15 minutes or so.

When you say the HDD reboots do you mean the whole pc?

I meant using the molex connector from the IDE cable adapter to the PW-200. and yeah I can run everything off a 300W PSU just fine..

Search the forums for PW200. Do some reading. You'll learn a lot and probably be angry with yourself afterward.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

if you have a multimeter, you should test the 5v feed after like 13 minutes or so, and see if the voltage is dropping. I would also check and make sure the HD is properly disapating heat. The way you have the power set up should be fine, its how my is setup and it works good.

Why would I be angry with myself?
