    Nope, thats the nice thing about cutting edge technology and expensive components. At 95%+ efficiency, thats 11 watts over 14 square inches. You should use a fan at that point, but most people only need 80-100 watts sustained and spikes don't generate much heat.

    I spent the evening putting some more finishing touches on the code. I've implemented Sleep mode that allows the power supply to only draw 3mA when it is off with ACC low. I also have parameters to set all sorts of features so that someone can write an API front end for it..

    These are parameters that get stored to perminant memory. IE once you set them, IT STAYS THAT WAY. Basically, you configure your DSATX 220 once and then it allway behaves for you just like you programmed it. If you mess it up, there is a load factory defaults command to get back to where you were.

    1) (LOWVOLTS ); // 1100 *10mv Low voltage setting for vinGood state
    2) (VINHIGHTHRESH); // 1300 *10mv Engine running threshold
    3) (HIGHVOLTS ); // 1800 *10mv Over voltage state, Load dumping..
    4) (VOLTSHYST ); // 45 *10mv hystresis for voltage vinGood State
    5) (VOLTSTHYST ); // 1000 *10ms Time hystrisis for voltage vinGood State 1 to 0 transition
    6) (VOLTSTHYST1 ); // 100 *10ms Time hystrisis for voltage vinGood State 0 to 1 transition
    7) (TURNONDELAY ); // 100 *10ms After ACC is high, wait this time 1 second
    8) (PULSEWIDTH ); // 100 *10ms Motherboard Pulse Width 1 second
    9) (MAXTIMER1 ); // 1200 *1s Main Shutdown Timer 1200 equals 20 minutes for P1 Pot Calc
    10) (TIMER1EE ); // 1200 *1s number of seconds
    11) (TIMETOKILL ); // 90 *1s approx number of seconds
    12) (USEPOTS ); // 1 1 = yes 0 = no use the P1 P2 Pots
    13) (ENABLESLEEP ); // 1 1 = yes 0 = no go to sleep mode
    14) (FEEDON ); // 1 1 = yes 0 = no serial port feed info
    15) (VTURNON ); // 0 1 = yes 0 = no 13 volt turn on
    16) (ACCTIMEVAL ); // 50 *10ms
    17) (TEMPHIGH ); // 500 *0.1 degrees C High Temperature threshold
    18) (TEMPLOW ); // 100 *0.1 degrees C Low Temperature threshold (can be + or -)
    19) (TEMPHYST ); // 50 *0.1 degrees C Temperature Hystresis
    20) (TEMPLOWSIGN ); // 0 1 = positive TEMPLOW Temp 0 = negative TEMPLOW
    21) (TEMPTHYST ); // 200 *10ms
    22) (ENABLE5VSBOFF); // 1 1 = yes 0 = no turn off +5VSB

    These are the real time voltage readings and state settings, etc..

    40) (plusVinA ) ;
    41) (plus12A ) ;
    42) (plus5A ) ;
    43) (plus3_3A ) ;
    44) (actualTemp ) ;
    45) (lowVoltThresh ) ;
    46) (timer1Val ) ;
    47) (CurrentState ) ;
    48) (mainCounter ) ;

    You hit O to turn Off the serial feed
    Notice in the serial feed that the last voltage field says 13.00 which is the low voltage cut off at the moment.
    Then I do a G01
    That returns the 1300
    Then I do a S011250 setting parameter 01 to 1250
    Then I do a G01 again
    It prints out 1250.
    Then I turn on the feed, and notice the 12.50
    You can still do the interactive mode for a few parameters for the novice user.
    Some of these parameters can result in damage, voiding any warranty I would offer, IE if you set the temperature to 80 degrees C instead of the default 50 degrees C for TEMPHIGH..

    The really cool thing about this is all these settings are Set in EEPROM meaning they will stay that way even if you unplug the device and ship it to Mexico. So if you disconnect your system or whatever, it will remember everything.

    I also added D for reload defaults if you screw something up.

    Here is the API commands roughly:
    The first number is the index, second number is the number of fields, then default value, then discription..

    This has got to be the best design yet, on screen, would love to get my hands onone but even waiting for pay day wont help I'm still out-of-a-job so income is virtually 0, some weeks less than my outgoings and the creditcards smoked.

    I am owed some back money if it arrives and I can keep it quite from swmbo then I am in with a chance before they all go.

    Damn laser printer just died on me too and I was using that to do some pcb's for the dash project so now its on hold

    People,

    I've taken 8 out of 13 orders so far. They've been going faster in the last few days. Once there gone. Beta test is over and price goes up.
