    Fusing cable....

    Hi,

My battery terminal to disty block 0AWG is run, and I plan to use 4AWG from thereon in. It's fused about 9in from the battery, with a 240A ANL fuse.
The amps (JBL 1201.1 and 75.2) have fuses in them already, 120a and 20a respectively. Should I bother fusing between the disty and amps or is that just overkill?

Great...system's on its way in...and then one of the coolant hoses packs in lol

Yes, definatly put a fuse on every line going out of the distribution block. Better yet, get one of those blocks that already have fuses in them. You're talking about a really powerfull system, so don't take any chases.

Do as Cris said, get the distro block with the fuses build in it. The fuses after the distro block are not used for protecting the amps, the fuses on the amp serve that purpose. The fuses after the distro are used to protect the power wire itself. The wire can catch on fire and then you have a serious problem. So you should definetly fuse the wires after the distro block.
