Yes, an Opus is sufficient and perfect for your application.Originally Posted by meissenation
Did some searching and there's mixed comments about whether or not an Opus works because of the power rail or something. Unfortunately, I'm no electrical engineer. I can solder, I can use a multimeter and install a complex car alarm with a wiring diagram, but picking a power supply is beyond my understanding. I've read the FAQ Emporium, and still a little shady on what exactly I'm looking at, so here's the post.
I have a Via Epia ME6000 Motherboard, a standard desktop HDD, DVDrom, USB 2.0, Liliput 7" monitor, etc. When I used the power calculators, it came to (depending on the two calculators) 106-130W. Would an Opus 150W power supply be a good choice? I know Opus is a very trusted brand. A long time ago when I was working on this project, I remember a very popular PSU that was being used with the Via Epia motherboards, but they were on hold or not released or something of the sort.
If someone could just give a simple "Yes, an Opus is sufficient and perfect for your application" or "No, I would recommend ________ for your needs" I'd greatly appreciate it, as I'd rather get recommendations from the people that know what they're doing.
Thanks in advance.
