cheap converter ??

ok my idea is if u took say an adapter than changes from 240v to 12v and turned it to rather do the opposite would it work? my problem is i dont have soo much to spend on an inverter or dc dc ps.. so looking for the cheapest means .. if u get my drift

well k pockets are not soo shallow..

the only annoying thing standing in my way is the 12v to 240v .. the rest is not a problem.... i live in ghana west africa and to get an inverter is like looking for a needle in the hay stack... and even if i found one the price would be 3 or 4 times the price.... which i think is not exactly a sane thing to do... thats my little proble... any ideas?
