Post Here's the power requirements for the FV24

Just in case anyone needs these, I measured them with my voltmeter. These are all at 100% cpu usage with a celeron 900.

    12V - 0.14A
    5V - 4A
    3.3V - 1.9A

Which adds up to a whopping 30W, or ~3A on the car's 12V line. (assuming inefficiency of the power supply)

.14 amps on the 12 volts is your cpu fan.

It is a lot less with a celeron 600 or 566

Have you read up on the performance of the C3?

their 900 mhz chip performes about the same as a celeron 300.

go look at benchmarks before you buy one!

I've been speaking to a guy at via - they are making a new board. Don't know if n e one has heard about it but its a mini itx format board - about 17cm by 17cm and has all the features of the fv24 plus a bit. The bummer is it has a built in cyrix chip, but its very low on power consumption and performs reasonably well - it will watch a dvd or do gps navigation without a problem. What it won't do is play doom 3 at 1024 x 768, but if you don't want your car pc to play games then perhaps this board would be a good one?? The C3 is also cheap and cool - it can (not officially) be run without a heat sink! Think what you will but this isn't a bad processor if you want a car pc plus its cheap!!
