    Post can I power my setup from the cd changer?

    Hi all. I want to stash a laptop in my trunk and use it as an mp3 player. My car has a cd changer jack in the trunk. Would it be possible to power a small laptop from the power coming through the cd changer?

    No, the current draw the computer needs will exceed the limits of the changer output. You will cause some damage to your deck.

    I'd agree. Run a separate line from the battery's positive terminal and ground it to the car's chassis.
