Post Trouble powering two HD's with Arise PS

I hooked up an Arise 865V to my computer last night and it would not power up my 2nd hard drive. The wiring harness came with a connector for a hard drive and a floppy so I cut off the floppy connector and replaced it with a 2nd connector for the other HD. The one HD specs are +5V~0.4A and +12V~0.27A but the other one doesn't have specs printed on it. The specs on the Arise output are +5V~6A and +12V~2A. Apparently the HD's must have a higher peak draw on startup. I disconnected the supply for the mb and still no luck ... each HD connected alone does work. Looks like I will have to use only one hard drive in my system ... does anyone have any suggestions on what I might try?

Some BIOS's have a "hard drive delay" in them. Try changing that so it spins them up at differnt times
