    Question inductor coil winding question

Since the thread got closed, I'll open this new one.

It looks like the wires you wound are touching in the coil. Wouldn't that create a short and make the inductor useless, or are the coils seperated by the hot glue (I can't tell in the pics)

The coils are made out of magnent wire which are covered in enamel skin. That is why the ends of the one that have the leads bent are black. Yes the wires have to touch and they have to touch very tightly so that the magnetic field is created.

You can not use pvc jacketed wire and expect to get a coil that will work very well.

    Cool

Oh, and when you connect the coil, make sure to strip the enamel off of where you want to solder...You'd be surprised how many people miss that step .

Sorry about closing your thread, but it looked like it was just all SkinnyBoy again...

Yes, actually we could get rid of you .

It's not that you post too much, it's the fact that you don't listen, and continue to post the same question over and over even after you have recieved several answers. Or give wrong information.
