    Question Inverter "whines" at startup

I've got a Jensen 300/600 Power Inverter in my setup. Whenever I power up the inverter I get a loud high pitched whine for about 5 seconds and then it stops and everything works perfectly. How can I stop this whine? Am I going to have to buy a new inverter? If so, which is the best. I've got a BOOKPC setup.
