I know that I will never kill the cars battery, even if I forget to turn the carputer off.
Well, ever since I switched to a yellow top optima I've never had any issues; and I must say I'm a limo driver in NYC (lots of waiting, stop and go, and not your normal conditions) I've used in my Denali for a year now and I've had no issues.
Im gonna add extra monitors and when I do Im gonna upgrade to a batcap like this:
These things are great and much better than any secondary battery, since it is one, and a capacitor; you can choose the capacitor to battery ratio according to the different model 300,400, and 800.
Well, that's all you need though;;; I dont get dissed since I've used it in installations and it works pretty good, thats all I can say.
Oh I'm not saying they dont work, just that in my suspicious mind I expect the one that looks like a 12v17ahr battery to perform just like a 12v17ahr battery, but costing a whole lot more.
Just thought I'd post to this section on a product I found recently when trying to add a backup battery to my car.
My intention is to have a small battery to keep the CarPC alive while I fill up a tank of gas or turn the car off for short periods of time (ca. 30 min or so ).
you know that suspicious nature i have for companies taking an existing product, giving it a new name for a different use and then multiplying the figure by a factor of random before deciding what to sell it at, well look at the product then look at a starter relay from a car...
