Post New ATX PS coming out

Arise Computer has a new ATX DC-DC PS coming out model MPD-810H. It's gonna be about $98!
I am waiting on availability, I should here today.
    It's from Majic Power http://www.mgpower.com

I have the specs in a fax, will try to scan them.

    Thumbs down

Well, it appears that it's got an input range of 18vdc - 36vdc, which (unless you happen to have an extra battery installed) won't do much good for a car-based system.

{edit}Oh, wait... that link was for the 810C. If the 810H is a 12vdc input, then it might be good.

It the MPD-810H not listed? I couldn't find it. I thought model starting with "MPD-810" were 80-100W U type. Wouldn't this new PS be MPD-830S, since all the PS that have 10VDC end in "S"? Please post more info.

Can we start some sort of email group list or something for a group buy? I know that there were a pile of people lining up to pay > $160 for them, if we can get them in on a group buy we might be able to get the prices down even lower.

Just remember that the $160+ PS's are 250W power supplys and these are I think 80-100W ? now I dont think that most people need 250W for their car PC unless they are running lots of things off it in the car like your LCD and lots more (since I think a few peolpe have the AT arise PS and running PC and LCD off of them) please let us know when you hear something about them I was reading on slashdot that they had a new ATX PS coming out soon but I did not know how soon so I was looking at getting the keypower one but if this is out now and will work for my PC then I might switch and get this.

I looked around the posted Majic Power site and could not find a 12V ATX supply w/ a +5VSb supplying more than 0.72A.
If you use standby/hibernate this may not cut it?

I heard from them and it should be out after thanksgiving. The price is $92, not $98 and we can get a group buy going for 10, 30 or 50 quantities, but she wasn't sure on the group prices yet. she will call me as soon as they have them. they are stuck at customs right now.

Here are the specs on it in PDF

THIS UNIT IS NOT ON THE MP SITE YET!

Hmm, I wish I hadn't spent all that time and money making a Sproggy PSU... Oh well, it's something to brag about .

I noticed that it doesn't have a -5v line... is it needed? what is it used for?
