Sproggy's supply and National sample policy

Has anyone succeeded getting that National's part as a sample for Sproggy's supply? I have every part except this one. It's really hard to find anything for reasonable price in here, so I tried to get a free sample. But they said no ;( Is there anyway to get it for free

?

Hi NasQ,

did they really say no or was it that you just didn't get the parts? National is a bit hard of hearing, I got all the parts I requested but had to ask two times in some cases..
You ARE saying your a student? this really helps just say that your working on your graduation project or something, make up a school name and fill in your own adress. That worked for me, and still does.

On the other hand, I haven't been able to get coilcraft to send me those t6's what did you tell them?

I have one extra T6 coil laying around.
(have 2 off them

have made the pcb, but now I'm not sure anymore if I'm going to use it..)

I recently got 4x Max1771 (for 12v) , and I think I'm going to use them, because they're more powerfull.

If you want it, we can work something out I think. ! (and that's because we're in holland, and they're really hard to get here)

won't the 1771 be a problem when the engine is off? however, as you know I'm gonna give Presslab's Idea a go, if it doesn't work out, I'd love to work something out with you concerning the t6-s.

No, the 1771 is a step-up thingy...
It need's a minimum of 2v

However, I don't really know if this is powerfull enough..(if it would supply 2a @12v, I only found a schematic which would do 0.5a @ 12v, but I got 4 off them,)
But in the worst case it would leave me with 2a @ 12v, which is more than enough to power my setup, in the best case I would have 8a @ 12v
Once I read something about someone who used 2 of them and he got 4a @ 12v, so I think I can only try..
Along with 4x max787 (5v @ 20a max.) and 2 max788 (3,3v @ 10a max.)I think it all would be more than enough juice to power any setup..

Although I hope you can make a forward converter, it's good to have a plan B !!!

If it doesn't work out, just tell me, i'd be happy to send you a T6 ('cause right at the moment it's collecting dust.....)

I didn't hear about them first, but then I mailed them. And yes, I said I'm a student and this is for a school-project, they just said no. I got the Coilcraft parts easily, I just mailed them and said I need them for a project :-) Hmm maybe I'll try to order that National's with a faked title like "electrical mass-purchaser"

How strange, i got the parts from national without a problem, and quick smart to. But coil craft wont send me any, even tho im a university student, and 'requiring them for a uni project' looks like i'll have to buy the T6 unless any one else can sell me one?
