Your'e going to need an inverter. And do you REALLY need an Athlon64 in the car.
Hey guys!
I am thinking of going for the Shuttle XPC ST20G5 for my carputer.I also had in mind using an inverter and the carpc ez 2.5 SDC.
However, i've been searching in the forum and found a lot of members saying they use opus to power their shuttles. I am kinda' confused.
What is the best option? Inverter + SDC OR OPUS??
From what i have read you have to buy a special opus and replace ur shuttle psu. However, if you are going for the inverter and sdc, the atx connector is different. This won't be a problem, would it? i think it wont as the SDC would be connected to the "power on/off" jumper on shuttle's motherboard rite?
Plus, will the opus have enough juice to power the shuttle ST20G5?
I am planning on having a powerful shuttle so it wont need upgrading for some time. And it will have a webcam, gps, wifi g, bluetooth, all these usb.
What do you guys think personally? INVERTER or OPUS?? PROs and CONs?
THANKS IN ADVANCE guys!!
Yes, your first step to making an informed power supply purchase is to calculate the amount of power draw your system will create.

2007 Honda Fit Sport 1.5L SOHC-VTEC
I bought a opus 150 and it seems to power the same unit just fine. I've been up and running with no problems for almost 2 weeks.
I'm running the following
AMD X2 3500+
512 mem
DVDR / CDR Combo
2 500gig drives
4 Usb ports in uses.
The PSU does'nt fit in the stock location thoThey changed the MB config with the memory slot right below. I guess they are more designed for the older models. I just mounted it on the reverse side where the PCI Slots are.
