would that hsit work on a opus?
The power supply??
Yes, it will power just about any car related items. That's what it's designed for.

Get a car battery charger and a gel cell battery (12 volt).

How did you go about the modification of the PSU? did you basically scrap the AC side change the transformers and leave the rest? just interested in trying this outOriginally Posted by pRoFiT

Well you don't want to scrap the AC side cause the idea here is to use it in the house for testing. All you need to do is jumper the turn on pin on the ATX connector or put a switch on it. Other things you might want to do is get rid of any unwanted wires and for stabilities sake put a few load resistors on the outputs you aren't going to use. Sorta depends on the power supply and what the quality is. An ATX PSU will give you a good regulated 12V but the supply I mentioned will give you 13.8V which is more like the car environment. And untill Dec 11th you can get 30% off if you can get an RS employee to share a friends and family coupon with you. It's basically an employee appreciation thing where they get coupons to hand out to friends & family and they will get the employee discount.
