    Powering Opus 15w POL

    Hi Guys,

I finally recieved my Opus 15w POL adapter and wanted to know how I go about powering it so it is always on when power is applied.

    Pin 1 (Red, On/Off)

Pin 2 (Black, GND - cigarette lighter negative)

Pin 3 (Yellow, +Battery - cigarette lighter positive)

Q 1 - there is no chance my cig lighter will be AC is there? They are all DC, right?

Q2 - The red signal lead - it's one wire, what do I do, blow on it? how can I wire up a switch? Or how can I wire it so it is always on?

    Thanks

Sorry for the sarcasm - it has been a pain in the *** getting this thing here

Oh - one more thing - the manual says cooling is required for loads above 10w - should I be worried about this with a xenarc 7" screen?

Well odds are your monitor requires at least 1300ma right. Then thats 1.3amps X 12 volts so 15.6 watts using a 1300ma as the variable. Everything in your car is DC voltage.

does this count? Operating Voltage: DC 12V ~ 14.5V

I got the adapter because I didn't want anything more than the 14.5V surging in for whatever reason, and to clean up the power input. But if you are saying that the screen will run with no problems as is, then I guess I have a brand new opus 15w POL for sale...

Actually, I was looking more for a confirmation on if it is a good idea to hook the screen up directly to the cars system?
