Post Need a Good Power Inverter - Need Ideas

I'm looking for a good power inverter, and I need some direction in what brand etc to take. I'm needing an inverter that is over 300 watts and doesn't have any alarms when voltage peaks. (Such as the crappy Jensen inverter) I'm also looking for one that doesn't have much height. ( Less that 2 inches) Finally I want it to have the standard 12v cigarette lighter adapter. Any ideas?

Well a 300 watt inverter on a cigarette lighter outlet is a bad idea. The wire that typically goes to the cigarette lighter is not very heavy gauge. At 300 watts you will be pulling 25 amps!!! In my car, I have a 20 amp fuse on the cigarette circuit, and there are other things on that circuit too. What are you powering that needs so much power?

I'm running a BookPC with an Intel Celeron 500mhz socket 370. Also have some USB peripherals and a CRT I have to connect.
