no need for a poll, theres plenty of threads regarding this very topic. 90% of the members here are going to tell you DC-DC, that's whats most popular.

Personally, I can go either way. With my setup I need an inverter and it works great. If I had a diffrent set up, that consumes alittle less power then I'd probably go DC-DC.

Cool... It seemed to me that it was closer to 50/50 when it came to powering their carputers. I think most inverter users would rather use DC-DC but inverters are more $ conscious. Especially if you have a dusty pc and a 300 GB HD in your garage.

Who has that? That would be in use for me. BTW, I voted DC-DC becuase I went with the M1-ATX. Getting cheap now that the M2 is out. ;D

    Not sure on the ratio.
You can power larger loads with the inverter, the DC-DC option is less waste.

haha, 68 percent right now I voted DC though, I'm with ya... I thought about inverter for money reasons but I thought for alternator, bigger wires and fuses, more work, less chance of holding through a crank and all around waste reasons... DC to DC in my ride.

I voted for inverter (pure sine or digital pure sine). I just like the fact of powering up my unit and still have the power to plug other devices I might need on the road or show like a dremel or buffer.

Where are you going to charge the batteries once it's depleted?
