    Powering 2 Xbox's...No inverter

I will be running a 4 gauge power wire to the rear and from there using a distribution block to power all devices being used. Will also be using the same ground point for all devices in the same manner.

I will be using 2 xbox's in my car and I just wanted to verify the best way to power these would be to get 2 of these DC-DC PS's and modify them to match the Xbox pin outs.

To ensure that there is no video/audio noise:
-Each power supply have it's own 20amp inline power lead noise filter
-Some ground loop isolators for the audio

This sound like a good plan??

I believe there is an adapter you need to utilize that (or any other) ATX-compliant power supply witht he XBox and have it work correctly. If I remember correctly, that adapter only works with older versions of the Xbox.

Search these forums for that and I you should be able to find what you're looking for.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Its sweet that you guys wanna put Xbox in your cars and modify the power supply. The only resource i've found till this day is here http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Mods/12V%20Mini%20Xbox.htm. Those guys are based in minnesota and they modified an xbox and replaced its PSU with a 12V DC-DC. They sell the PSU for $150. See if it worth it

It left to anyone to decide how they wanna run their consoles in cars. You can obviously use an inverter and you'd have to power up, power down, all that crap manually. You can use a DC-DC PSU and set how you want to operate the xbox on coming on or going off. See, its all your choice. Perharps, these guys would wanna run XBMC. It sucks having to wait for the xbox to boot and then load xbmc IMO. If i need to use XMBC id definitely modify/replace the PSU.

I'm changing from an inverter to a m1-atx because the inverter's fan was noisy and it was causing noise in the audio signal.

perhaps I needed a better quality inverter.

But the 12v psu will be much more efficient. I made the ATX adaptor myself.

    Works fine.

I think I may have damaged my psu the other day while testing the J6 power switch trigger. When j6 wasnt connected to the xbox switch it was turning on fine. Now it won't even do that

While I was putting in the new psu i've upgraded the xbox fan to a 80mm SilenX fan. Completely silent now - its great
