PC Case Switch in Parallel with Opus PWR_ON?

I want to keep my PC's power button usable in parallel with the Opus's PWR_ON signal to the motherboard. If I just tap the button into the signal lines, will shorting those pins do any damage to the Opus or will it work as expected, signaling to the PC to do a clean shutdown. Would I still be able to use the hard-off feature if the PC locks up? (I have my Opus set for 20 mins to shutdown, and I wouldn't want to have to wait that long for it to force a shutdown.)

Well, since nobody replied and I found the answer out on my own after contacting OPUS, I figure I'll share the info so future

Although they don't recommend it (not sure why) OPUS claimed that shorting out those pins will not harm the PSU. I've since wired mine this way and the power button works just as expected. Since the PC is already set to do a shutdown when the power button is pressed (either by the OPUS or the switch), the computer will shutdown when I press the button and power down the PSU. It also works as a hard power-off (with the 4-5sec press) if the PC locks up.
