From the Opus manual
3 Flashes : Power supply output voltages are out of normal voltage range.
Reasons:
1. Power supply output is over loaded or shorted.
2. Faulty DC-DC power supply.
i have a problem i connected my opus to my pc and it turns on for about 1-2 seconds then turns off and the green led flashes 3 times its a 1.8 p4 and all it has connected is the hard drive and i also tried it on a 900mhz celeron and samething happened its powered by a 12v adapter in my house, any idea what the problem could be?

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story
i need a little more help than that
that's pretty good help by meddler. however, i guess i need to break it down. assuming the power supply is not overloaded, and the opus works is not faulty, then there is only one other option. you might have run the wires incorrectly, maybe a short. have you checked the wires?
What more help do you need?!?!?!
He gave you the text straight from the manual that tells you what your problem is. You're either overloading the output or your PSU is faulty.
Look at the setup you're running. Unless you're using a low-wattage P4 1.8, you're drawing way more load than the Opus can provide.
How do I know?
I read this: FAQ: Will <insert PSU model> Power Supply work with my system?
i've been running a 2.4 p4 on my 150W opus for 2 years now. no problems so far. probably a faulty opus. just contact opus...they're pretty easy to work with.

I run a 2.4 Ghz Northwood P4 - no problems (MB870 board). It lists the power consumption with my configuration and it is within spec for the OPUS.
WHy dont you disconnect all exterl power from the PC except jsut have you power to the opus and the screen connected and see what happens. That happened to me, i got 3 flashes after it shutdown after a couple seconds. Found out i had too much stuff drawing power from my opus.
