EXtending 12v and 5v rails on dsatx

I've got my carpc installed and currently have everything hooked up totally ghetto, not even worth documenting. This weekend, I'll be ripping it out and installing it right. For the time being, the carpc is hooked up with a 4 ga wire from the battery, the usb hubs are hooked up via power inverters and the a/c adapters, and my lilliput is connected to the cigarette lighter outlet.

The usb hubs require 5v (.5 amp draw max) and the Lilliput needs 12v (.75amps). Can I just splice into a morex connector and run 8 ga wire from the dsatx in the trunk to the front under the dash where I need the power?

    Your wire guages are overkill.
    But yes, that would work.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Yeah, I kinda figured. But, that's what I got lying around. I could go out and buy some 14 ga wire. I may just do that, then I wouldn't be worried about having bumps in my carpet. Thanks Darque!

Remember, for your usb hub, it'll be .5A *per* port... a 4-port usb hub is at least 2Amps... a 2-port hub is at least 1 Amp...

Ah, good point. 12 ga should still be fine. Monitor doesn't even draw a whole amp, so the 8 ports will draw much less than the 10amps the dsatx supplies. thanks for that though, I forgot - thinking the whole hub needed .5A.
