    Does your M1-ATX survive crank?

    Hi guys,

    I was wondering who's M1-ATX survived crank.

Mine is not. It works fine powering up and shutting the carputer down but when I crank the engine it cuts off then powers back up.

    Thanks.

Mines works fine. Where are you getting your constant voltage from? I had a distro block with 4g wire coming from the battery for my amps that I just tapped off of, so powers never been a problem for me. Are you getting constant from a circuit that cuts power during crank? Have you tried hooking it up directly to the battery?

i have it hookup directly to the battery via a 4g wire to an 8 ditro. block.

Currently the carputer is the only thing hookup up to that connection.

My jumper is set to option 'b' only if that matters.

Hmmm, that's how i have mine, only I have 3 MTX amps hooked up to it. I have 10gwire goining to the M1. There's acap in ther too, but I don't think it makes a difference. I have it at 10 minute/1 hour setting, but i've had it set to a few different ones and they all survived the crank.

Only thing I can think of...how's your battery?
    or, maybe a bunk M1?

Stick a voltmeter on the battery and crank.

If the voltage drops below 11v at any point, the low-voltage protection of the M1-ATX will kick in and cut power.

Correction: M1-ATX / M2-ATX will work as low as 6-7V.
During standby, if voltage dips below 11.2V for more than 1minute, it will shut down in order to prevent over-discharge.

Someting is wrong with your setup, probably some nasty groud loops or for some reason your car cuts-off 12V entirely at startup. Or a really bad batter (I doubt it)
