    LILLIPUT VOLTAGE REG PROB *fixed*

Everytime I plug my lilliput into the ciggy lighter using the supplied voltage regulator my 2 Amp fuse blew. I have figured out how to fix my paticular problem in case anyone else is having a similar one.

This is what im talking about

I pulled the multimeter out and found out that all these points are connected to each other which is not right!!

bla bla bla...20 mins later I find that I needed to replace the diode (pictured top left) the only diode I had lying around was a IN4004 so I plugged that in and it worked.

***BE SURE THAT IT IS PLUGGED IN THE RIGHT WAY***
as this component works like a valve only letting current pass in one direction

Ah, nothing like fixing it yourself. Congrats! But since you have the voltmenter, check out voltage coming from the car. Mine came out to be around 13.5-14 volts and fluctuates, too. Since the LCD is so expensive, I spent a few more bucks in getting a proper power supply for it. It is generally regarded that the 'egg' (what you photographed above) is worthless. Just FYI.

thanks man yea its useless the input is the same as output. Before I start the car its input/output voltage ≈ 12V and when the engine is on input/output voltage ≈ 14 I only use it for the 2A fuse and untill I get some more cash for a dc - dc
