    dsatx not turning on pc

hello, i own a dell gx260 and i have a dsatx powering it. this power supply works great except for the fact that it does send the power on signal to the mobo. it DOES send the signal and it turns on for about a sec then it turns on and the led on it stays on solid. I have read several users with the same problem so it seems like its common. it order for me to turn it on, i have to short out the pins manually. it does however sends the shut down signal and it does turn off the pc. so what i have done for a temp solution was to wire in a switch to the pins so that when the i turn on the car, i have to flip the switch bak and forth for it to turn on. I used a voltmeter to determine the correct polarity on the mobo. please help! am i going to have to use the relay fix for this? thanks

I should make some cables to support this feature. It is 2 10k resistors and a PNP transistor.
I will keep you posted on when I build some. I will keep you posted on when I build them.

Jdiazj1 di zootjeff ever get back to you. I am debating buying a dsatx and I also have a dell optiplex gx260 2.0ghz that i am thinking about putting in the car. I am trying to move away from via boards. Were you able to get 800x480 working any tips you have about the gx260 and dsatx please let me know.

hi, well he never got back to me. I PMed him and he never replied so i figured that he never did those cables. as for advice on the gx260 and the dsatx, its working fine for me. when i wrote this thread, i was having problems with it not turning it on so i wired that switch so that i could short the pins that way. i had done that as a temporary solution so i just had the switch hanging there. it was doing that for a while until one day i just decided to forget that cable from zootjeff and perminantly leave that switch. i unplugged it from the pins so i could reroute the cables and when i plugged then back in, it was magically working like its supposed to. it would turn on the mobo with the ignition and tell it to go into hibernate after i turn the engine off. I do recommend the dsatx as im running the gx260 with a clock speed of 2.4ghz, running 2 hhds, one video card, a dvd player wired to it, my motorized 7" lcd and numerious usb devices. I dont think there is another psu capable of powering all that. let me know if u have any more questions, ill be happy to help. i am, however, having a little problem with the computer. for some reason it seems to be skipping the musik when i play it. i had prev asked for help here about it and many people suggested that it was prob the power. they said that i prob wasnt providing enough power for the psu to power everything. i was doubting that was the prob so one day i decided to run RR in the background and just monitor the Task Manager. I noticed that everything the music would stop playing it was because my cpu was spiking. it would be playing normal at like 5% usage then when it would start 'skipping', it would show it at like 85% usage. so im guessing that i am having problems with RR and need to tweak it. overall, im pretty pleased with it. as for the resolution, im using powerstrip and using it at 800x600
