1970 Standard beetle, options for more power?

I need more power. I have a standard beetle with a generator. Not sure what the output is but its not enough to power 4 speakers, 2 subs w/ 2 amps and a laptop..

help?

For a beetle, best bet is to drop the generator and voltage regular and convert to a alternator.. if you check they now have 95amp alternators for the bug... When my bug was running and I had the 95amp alt in it I was able to run over 2000watts of amps in it plus an empeg stereo.. I also put in a second battery in the other side of the back seat so I could run it all with the car off..

They also have lower alt kits like 75 amp... when converting from the gen youll need more then just the alt, youll need a stand as well since it sits slightly differnt then the generator. If your mechanic is unable to locate a kit for you check with socalautoparts.com that is where i purchased mine..
