FAQ: How to fix your OPUS 150W
Well ok.. we're at it again.. my car PC has been turned off completely and collecting dust for the past 2 weeks in my car![]()
when I first installed it it was doing this and then it was working perfectly for a week. Now ever since then it's been doing the following:
I turn the car on, and the Opus powers everything and immediately turns it off.. then exactly 5 seconds later it does the same thing. The power surge is no longer than a second and just shuts off right after.
I've checked ALL my cables and connections for loose things and everything is fine. This leaves me with one suspect.. the PSU... What might be doing that? It can't be TOO much stuff hooked on it because I even tried running JUST my PC and Screen and still the same thing happens..
any ideas?
Thanks

You know, the funny thing is that I've read that thread before.. yet I'm still asking like a n00b.. haha damn
well I'll try that tomorrow.. it'll be a ***** taking off the PSU from the place I have it now but I hope this fixes it..
Thanks a lot Quattro! I'll post tomorrow a follow up

well as much as I hoped this was the reason it did not solve anything
when I opened the case up, the Green LEDs blinked 3 times and stop for 5 seconds. After I did the mod where I put the electrical tape, the LEDs now blink every other second and that got me happy at first because I thought it was fixed but it does the same thing.. 5 seconds off and half a second turn on and off...
I'm really out of ideas here...

I have had that happen with mine when the battery was on its way out. The Opus boots over and over because it gets the power signal to turn on, and then it realizes that the voltage is low, so it turns off. Try checking the voltage of your power wire at the Opus with a meter.
