accident and now Opus won't work anymore

I did some rewiring an hour ago, and accidently while thigthening the main power cable to the battery+ the wrench I used touched the ground point, little smoke and sprackling aoccured.

Only thing I have connected to the battery now is a opus 120w and 2 amps. Amps are fine and fuse on opus is fine also the main fuse at the beginning of the main powercable is not broken.

But now the Opus won't boot my carpc anymore. Diagnostic light on the opus blinks sometimes 3 times and sometimes 2 times.

Is it broken? Isn't the opus protected agaings overloads like this? Also I assume that power takes the shortest route possible so most power went to the wrench and not the opus.

okey I was afraid that I'd destroyed all my stuff now, but lucky enought monitor and amps are operating by separate power

Seems like my ground point lost some contact to the chassis, perhaps ash from the ignitions or something.

Moved the ground point and now the opus blinks every 10th sec which meen too low voltage input, hopefully I get everything up again tomorrow.

I meen when all fuses are intact on opus, amps and main power cord, everything should be ok?!

There is no reason for the components to fail if the short took place at the battery. Can you still start your car? If your battery is very old, chances are the short could have damaged one of its cells. Take the battery posts off and clean the posts and terminals well using a metal brush and re install. Charge the battery up and if takes the charge then your problem should go away.

okey thx. yes as I understand power takes shortes route, ergo from battery+ through wrench to ground. Actutaly my ground spot was a screwed to the metal thing that holds the battery in place, this was were the short occured.

battery was bought 10 months ago. Varta cold ice or something. Was made
for extra performance in cold climate. hope things will turn out ok since I just got rid of the ground loop flickering on my monitor when this happened.

technically the short caused from both of your scenarios (naix and diskey) shouldn't have damaged anything as when this happens, all it is doing is moving the "loop" (the flow of current along the path of that particular circuit) to just before the psu, which is what causes them to start going out, in essence its the same as crank voltage, the short created a current and voltage sag just before the psu, in essence starving it of what it needed to run.

Try this: Unplug the units from both the bat + and the ACC for at least 10 minutes or so, then reconnect them and try booting things up. What we're hoping is that this drains all the caps from the psu and any connected equip, and we get everythign to reset that may be slowely drawing voltage from them (in essence returning the power circuit to the way it was when you bought it). We're hoping this strvation of voltage didn't cause any small circuit damage.
