No, no and look into a device to simulate WOL or WOR.
I have a targus universal port replicator, and a 2003 Toshiba satellite A25-S207 laptop. Is there any way to modify the port replicator to turn on the laptop? Is there anyway to use the port replicator as a power switch for the laptop? The laptop will be in the trunk, and the laptop has a power switch directly wired to the motherboard, so soldering a switch would be difficult for me. Any suggestions?
Are you sure there is no way?
I suggest getting the port replicator from Toshiba itself - since they come with a power button - and simply wire the button to whereever you wanna put it, ie, by the driver.
You didn't mention if the Targus port replicator has a power switch or not. I am assuming it doesnt which is why I suggest getting the toshiba port rep.
Duct tape and a Bandana for the win, b!shes!!!
Cost so far: Less than a grand ;]

Yup. No way. All universal port replicators don't have a power switch. Even if they did, you'd have to solder into that switch anyway.Originally Posted by black06stang
BTW, start doing some searching, dude. You've been asking a lot of these annoying noobish questions.
Some people just say no without really considering the question...I just wanted other people's opinions also.
