Ok guys had a similar problem before but trying the same things did not fix this, just got the dsatx back from jeff and the psu works great now turns the pc on and powers it fine now, I just need to be able to program the timers and such. I connected to it through hyperterminal and could receive data but i could not type anything to it and i have no idea why followed everystep in the manual and still cannot get it.... any ideas?

When you're connected to it, press E to enable write mode.
I had the same issue, and writing isn't enabled by default.

Try resetting it to defaults and then enabling writing with the E command?
I had to do that once...

That problem because rs232 level on your laptop with rs232 in desktop. Use max232 to convert your rs232 laptop to real rs232

    What?
Being froom Indonesia, I'm certain English isn't your first language. But even the most probken English doesn't sound like this sentence.
Although I will give you an award for using RS232 the most times in one post.

And the information you're supplying is incorrect. I have the same power supply and have had the same issues as djXternal where one PC will talk to the brainstem and one won't. Once I establish communication from one PC (my laptop), it workes just fine from there on out.

FYI: You can also get a USB brainstem from Acroname's website. I talked to zj about using one and he doesn't think there would be any issues, although he never tested one.
